Princess Yachts International was originally founded in 1965 as Marine Projects (Plymouth) Ltd to fit out and charter the ‘Project 31’, the first boat to be built at the Company’s original factory facilities in Newport Street, Plymouth.

Over the ensuing years the Company has built on this reputation and has, from inception to 2005, introduced more than 80 new model lines. The Company now owns and operates from over 870,000 ft2 (81,000 m2) of vertically integrated factory facilities and has become one of the most respected names in the marine industry.

Miracle Information Services managed the company’s complete IT infrastructure for two years, between 2004 and 2005, under the terms of a Managed Service contract, including management of the support team. Major exercises, in stabilising and hardening the IT infrastructure included:

- WAN/LAN network upgrade.
- Main server room upgrade.
- New active directory introduction.
- SAN implementation.
- Introduction of new Exchange 2K3 email system, based upon clustered servers.
- Moving company file server to new domain, including transfer to new server.
- Migration from CHESS V3.2 [C-ISAM] to V3.2 [ORACLE], including transfer to new server.
- Citrix version and server farm upgrade.
- Implementation of new, secure remote access service based upon Citrix gateway.
- Disaster recovery planning.
- Introduction of system procedures and documentation based on BS 15000 principles.
